Frequently asked
Why does the plugin need REAPER's web interface?
Live Control talks to REAPER through its built-in web interface. It is the official, stable channel for reading session state such as transport position, track flags and the Action List. One shared connection powers every key on your deck. Enable it in REAPER under Options, then Control/Remote/Web.
My REAPER install is portable. Does that work?
Yes. Live Control detects both standard and portable REAPER installations automatically on Windows and macOS. No manual paths, no configuration files.
Can I put my own scripts on keys?
Yes. Anything registered in REAPER's Action List works: built-in actions, your Custom Actions and registered ReaScripts or extension scripts. Search for it, drop it on a key.
Do the icons have to look one way?
No. REAPER toolbar and track icons load in automatically, but every key accepts custom PNGs, separate on/off states, active colours, titles and text sizes.
